FAQs
1 / What are Real-World Assets?
RWAs are tangible or income-generating assets outside the blockchain (such as SME loans, real estate, invoices, etc.) that are digitized (tokenized) so they can be traded, tracked, or used within blockchain systems.
2 / How does my investment become a loan?
Once you commit capital to Oryn, your funds are pooled and allocated to underwriting teams who select SMEs and structure loans. Each loan is tokenized (via smart contracts) to ensure on-chain visibility. You effectively own “shares” in that pool of loans, and repayments flow back proportionally through the pool.
3 / How do you calculate the 8–12% return target?
This figure reflects historical performance of similar loan portfolios, net of fees and defaults. We stress-test using conservative default and interest assumptions. The actual return depends on pool performance and macroeconomic conditions.
4 / Can I withdraw early or exit before maturity?
Because these are credit-based instruments, liquidity is constrained. We may enable partial secondary markets or redemption options under predefined conditions. However, early exit is not guaranteed, and terms will vary by pool. (Note: tokenized real assets often exhibit low trading volume in secondary markets.)
5 / What are the security risks & how are they managed?
Smart contracts are audited periodically by independent firms. We use robust oracle systems, contract upgradability controls, and safeguard against known exploits. Still, blockchain technology carries inherent risks: bugs, oracle failures, and protocol vulnerabilities are possible. We maintain insurance or reserves to cushion severe events
6 / What happens if a borrower defaults?
We have some of the lowest default rate in the market with below 5%. We mitigate defaults via rigorous credit underwriting and due diligence, legal contracts enforceable in the borrower’s jurisdiction and collateral structures to recoup value. In case of default, our recovery team initiates enforcement procedures. Your risk is never zero, but we design for resilience — and full transparency ensures you always see the status.
7 / Are these investments regulated?
CreditBook is only licensed digital lending company for SME financing in Pakistan. We operate under applicable securities, credit, and financial regulations in each jurisdiction. Tokenized credit instruments may or may not be classified as securities depending on the location, so we maintain full compliance, required disclosures, and legal counsel. Additionally, custody and title of collateral is handled through regulated structures so that legal claim is enforceable.
8 / What types of businesses & collateral are funded?
We primarily finance SMEs in emerging markets — small manufacturers, traders, service providers, women-led businesses, etc. Collateral may include receivables, inventory, property, or other income-generating assets. Each loan is verified and recorded on-chain and off-chain.
